Email & Notification Preferences

Every email Barnaby currently sends is transactional — it exists because you did something, and it carries information you need:

• Booking confirmations and consultation reminders
• Payment receipts, refunds, and payout statements
• Prescriptions and health-record documents
• Account security: verification codes, account-deletion links

We are not sending marketing email. If that changes, marketing mail will be opt-in only, and every such message will carry an unsubscribe link.

Push and email notification categories are controlled in the app: Profile → Notifications (also reachable from Settings → Notifications).

• Promotions & Offers — deals and discounts from stores. Off by default. This is the marketing consent switch; nothing promotional is sent unless you turn it on.
• Appointment Reminders — upcoming consultations.
• Order Updates — marketplace order tracking.
• Vet Messages — messages from your veterinarians.
• Health Tips — pet care tips and reminders.
• Emergency Alerts — outbreak alerts and urgent care notifications.

Push Notifications and Email Notifications are master switches at the top of the same screen.

Transactional messages listed in the section above are not affected by these switches. Turning everything off does not stop a payment receipt or a security code, because those are records of something you did, not messages we chose to send you.

To have your address suppressed from all promotional email — permanently, and independently of any account setting — write to hello@barnaby.in with the subject "Unsubscribe", from the address you want suppressed.

Your address is added to our suppression list, which is checked before any marketing send. The suppression outlives your account: if you later delete your Barnaby account, the address stays suppressed rather than becoming eligible again. We action these within 7 days and always within the 30 days the DPDP Act allows.

Push is separately controlled by your device. On iOS, Settings → Barnaby → Notifications; on Android, Settings → Apps → Barnaby → Notifications. Turning push off at the device level overrides every in-app switch.
